Important Sportsmanship Items

Posted 5/16/12

Good Afternoon,

Unfortunately I must send a message regarding some instances of conduct that has occurred the first few weeks.

1 :: Swearing (including using the Lords name in vein) is Unacceptable weather this is directed at yourself or someone else such as the Umpire, Opponent, or Teammate. The Umpires have been requested to tighten down on this. Control yourselves...please, or prepare to sit out a few weeks.

2. Arguing Balls and Strikes is also unacceptable, along with game situations. Please realize that each umpire has his own way of calling games (just like any level) and the calls may not always go your way. When a Manager or Player emails Monday Morning complaining and whining that the umpire is horrible and clueless, etc.  I most likely will move on without action as this is most likely the way it was handled the night before. if the email is thoughtful and explains briefly and nicely  that the umpire may have had a little trouble with Balls and Strikes or a situation in a game, I will pass your concern along to Mike Fluegge (Supervisor of Umpires) for him to handle internally.

3. You may not go into the opposing teams Dugout for any reason! If you have an issue with the opposing teams bat(s), have your Manager bring it up with the umpire and leave it at that.

4. Keep the pace of the game moving. If your team hits the homerun, get after the ball immediately!
Pitch the Ball! You are wasting every ones time jerking around before each pitch. This is Church league, not the USSSA Worlds...you are not fooling anyone, just annoying everyone...get on with it!

5. No metal cleats are allowed. Enough Said.

Get out each week, have fun, and enjoy the weather.

Thank You
